We advise lift owners to only use lift engineers who are approved on the lift engineer safe register to help prevent workplace accidents occurring in the first place. Poor or inadequate risk assessments covering PUWER, LOLER, MHSWR, COSHH, MHOR, PPE, WHR are common areas of non-compliance and lack of continued and up-to-date accredited training resulting in lift operatives being classed as incompetent under the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 where fines and legal administration for court proceedings can be costly.
