Plaistow Electrical Wholesalers founded in 1988 has grown to become one of Europe's leading suppliers of quality lift and electrical products.
An on-going expansion programme and product range continues unabated, in line with their aim of making PEW a single source supplier to the lift industry. Coupled with a fully equipped 26,764sq ft warehouse, a comprehensive lift product guide is available in both standard buyers guide and also a more compact lift engineers guide and also an eCommerce website. This offers the ease and convenience of online access to their product range available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Training Centre Direct (TCD) are the preferred partners of PEW Electrical Distributors who are the leading lift distributors in the UK. Starting way back in 2009 with PEW simply donating some much needed lift safety equipment, TCD were able to use this equipment for practical demonstrations to help reduce workplace accidents in a classroom setting.
From this both organisations delivered onsite training classes to help college students with education and career choices from Lewisham, North West Kent, Uxbridge and Bromley Colleges, over 120+ students benefited from here alone. Adding to this, they have also directly supported over 300 unemployed job seekers with factory site visits, practical training demonstrations and valuable employer contacts.
This and together with TCD, they have formed a partnership success model were both organisations benefit the new entrant to the lift industry, with education, employment and long term and sustainable career options provided free of charge to the job seeker. In a nutshell the job seeker is given choice.
“PEW have facilitated dozens of student/job seeker visits over the years" says Jason Clark, Director of PEW, “We have partnered and sponsored their training company with lift parts, materials, student visits and advisory service enabling 100's of new lift people move closer to their dream jobs”. He continued “TCD have also been featured in our product guide five times helping a joint 'Corporate Social Responsibility' (CSR) value by creating new jobs for local people in communities most in need.”
Andrew Dennehy founder of PEW said "We fully support TCD by giving new people the opportunity to work in the lift industry and fast tracking them into job interviews", he continued "They also support new lift engineer trainees with qualifications and self-employment options both in the UK and abroad".
