After just 3 days of a two week work trial, newly trained lift mate 'Danny Wright' came up with an idea of playing Russian Roulette with a group of fellow Apex Lift Engineers to help settle him into his new position.
12 eggs were selected with 10 being hard boiled and 2 rare, and then each taking their turn to smash them into the head of the person next in line- the rest is history!
Before Danny worked for Bexleyheath based Apex Lifts, Danny was unemployed with very little job prospects after applying for several jobs. Despite having previous experience working as a fixers cladding mate producing building frameworks/curtain walls, and experience in using machinery while working as a maintenance operative, he struggled to find work.
Danny also has worked in management in a busy bar with responsibilities for other junior bar staff and handling large amounts of cash, along with retails jobs and being a charity call centre operator.
There is no doubt that Danny was employable but trying to get off unemployment benefit at the job centre and into work was difficult. Danny said "I didn't know what to do after applying for so many jobs." He continued "But then I saw an opportunity to train to become a Lift Engineer with the help of a local training provider Training Centre Direct."
Rob Hughes, Director of Training Centre Direct commented "Danny was one of a dozen new recruits all eager to get back into work and he took extremely well to the training," he continued "ironically I took the whole class to Apex Lifts for a tour before his work trial where he was identified as a potential candidate."
John Roberts, Service Director of Apex Lifts said "We have supported the work done by Training Centre Direct on several occasions and their latest group has been to the usual high standard,"
Warren Jenchner, Managing Director and owner of Apex Lifts confirmed "We will always support the work by Training Centre Direct as they genuinely help people that want to get into the lift trade".
Apex Lifts are arguably the best leading Lift Maintenance and Lift Installation companies in South East England with an impressive list of clients and large lift projects to their portfolio. Apex Lifts are proud to be 'Deliberately Different' with their own Apex Training Academy and even a Royal Warrant Holder amongst other accreditations.
Barking based Lift Distributor PEW, Stephen King said "Our relationship with Training Centre Direct goes back to 2009 and we have fully supported them with onsite training visits and supplying lift equipment free of charge," he also said "We always welcome the new lift students from Training Centre Direct and give up our time to show them around our premises to help them with an insight in the lift trade".
